In science, we are studying how animals can adapt to their environment to survive. So in writing, we all chose an animal to research and learn more about. We created an online poster on a website called smore.com. Here they are: What a great year!! We have shared many books together and traveled the US talking with other classes using skype! Here is the video that Mrs. DeBoer made!! Websites: Gage and Yanal Roshan Loyal'Tee and Emani Cameron Asmir Dylan P. Aven Powerpoint: Leanna and Jasmine Braelyn and BrinSueAshton This week, we chose a person we wanted to research. We then used www.smore.com to create a poster about our person. Please look at the amazing work the students created! Anthony by Brin and MaihquevilToday we skyped with a fourth grade class in Shoreline, WA! We learned that there is a 3 hour time difference between our two classes. When we skyped it was 1:00 here and 10:00 there! They also shared that their class loves llamas. We had a great time! We have now skyped with 7 classes all over the United States located in: Fargo, ND Marietta, GA Clinton, OK Forest City, IA Des Plaines, IL Council Bluffs, IA We have learned a lot about this places and schools. Our goal is to decrease the number of questions we ask. We were inspired by a song by Sara Bareilles called Brave to talk about how we would be brave at school. We also talked about what kinds of students we want to be here at Meadowlawn. This is what we came up with: Today was our Walk-a-thon! Our class brought in the most donations for the Upper Elementary - with $118. This morning we also skyped with a class from Forest City, Iowa. We had to ask them questions to decide where in the United States they were located. The students did a great job figuring it out and had a great time. Enjoy the pictures of both events This week we are celebrating Dot Day which celebrates a book called The Dot by Peter Reynolds. The story has a great message - to make your mark! Watch a video of the story. Tuesday we will create our dots. Stay tuned to more pictures of our work. |
